What is Wull?
Norwegian
ull
English
wool
wool + ull = wull
Started by sisters Molly, living in Norway, and Rosie living in the UK, Wull came from a need for woolly clothing for children and discovering a fantastic supply of Norwegian pre-loved beautiful handknit pieces and essentials.
From experiencing Norwegian winters first hand Molly had learnt from her friends, neighbours and colleagues about the importance of wool, especially so for children! Nurseries in Norway have a required checklist of wool clothing for winter- traditionally babies will nap outside, wrapped up warm, to temperatures as low as -10C! They REALLY know their wool and the fantastic qualities it has.
When Rosie had her daughter, Molly sent a package of wool clothing for her first winter and it proved to be incredibly useful in the UK climate too. Many Norwegian friends have commented on the UK feeling sometimes colder than Norway due to the wetter weather!
Molly handpicks pieces in Norway, lovingly tends to any items that need it (you can read more about visible mending here) and sends them to Rosie to prepare for UK homes.
