On Bearlaclavas

You may have spotted some of balaclava’s in our shop and some with ears!

Balaclavas are a great option for a couple of reasons:

• Keeping ears, cheeks and neck cosy as well as the head

• Easier to keep on the head when baby like’s to take their hat off
  

A pattern we see frequently is the Knitting for Olive Baby Bear Balaclava.

It’s one that I’ve made too! It’s quicker than you might expect as it comes together quickly at the end. The pattern is clear and has a good range of size options, an option for an extended neck warmer and works well in plain or colourful yarn. I first made one for when we went to visit Molly in Norway when my daughter was 6 months old and I made her a new one in the 2 - 3 year size using a botanical variegated yarn.
